Most dog doors are manually operated, with a microchip option available for small dogs only. These are simple to manage, although they require regular attention if the flap is not to be left permanently open. As the size of flap increases, then the security implications must be considered. The only 'secure' dog doors are made by petWalk. These are at the luxury end of the market, and for further details please contact Phil at Four Paws Doors
The details below relate to the types of dog door that I typically use. Other products are available, but I do not recommend or stock them. I can install dog doors in glass (glass models only), and other types of door (most models). I no longer install dog flaps of any type in walls

The former Dog Mate name is being replaced with Closer Pets branding. I tend to use these in doors, along with the small dog version in glass. Anything larger in glass I switch to using Pet-Tek models

I tend to use the Closer Pets range as I find the fitting of Staywell products time consuming (more expensive to fit) or I prefer other products. The aluminium framed dog doors with a rubber flap are useful though for dogs of a robust nature

The Pet-Tek uses a Bayer polycarbonate that is stated to be 'virtually unbreakable'. I tend to use the Closer Pets models, but the larger manual glass fitting models here are useful in a range of sizes not found elsewhere. Some customers also prefer the 'wood' fitting dog door over the equivalent Closer Pets model
