I am a sole trader who specialises in fitting cat flaps and dog doors. I do this full-time, and not as a side-line to any other work. I am based in Edenbridge, which is located on the Kent / Surrey border, and cover large parts of Kent, Surrey, East Sussex and West Sussex. I do not employ others, nor do I sub-contract any work, although I do work closely with Phil Foulger of Four Paws Doors who I've known for over 30 years and who is based in South London. Phil and I provide mutual support and the sharing of work experience and good practice
Every job receives my personal attention from the initial enquiry through to completion. I have a broad range of general practical skills and all of my work is of high quality and to a professional finish. I work normal hours during the week, and should be able to schedule your work within a day or so
I can supply cat flaps and dog doors as part of the service, install your pet flap, replace or upgrade an existing pet flap in the same panel, or completely remove a pet flap and provide a new panel to replace the cut one (plain uPVC panels). The types of cat flaps and dog doors that I use are either manual or microchip controlled. I do not recommend the use of magnetic or infra-red types. I tend to use products from a range of manufacturers, my main preference being Sureflap for microchip flaps, and for manual models Closer Pets (Pet Mate, Cat Mate and Dog Mate), Pet-Tek and occasionally Pet Safe / Staywell. I follow the manufacturer's instructions in regard to installation. However, I carry out additional sealing beyond the manufacturer's requirements to ensure my installations are thoroughly weathertight
I will always be respectful of your home, family and pets when invited in to fit a pet door. I will clean up once the work is done and take away any debris for proper disposal. When fitting a pet door I take great care not to compromise the strength or security of the door, wall or window through which it passes. Since the coronavirus outbreak, my working practices include social distancing measures to minimise any chance of cross-infection
I take great pride in carrying out high quality work. If anything should go wrong I will do whatever needs to be done to put things right for you. I let my clients' unsolicited comments be my main endorsement
